Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is the branch of computer science focusing on making computers behave like humans. Artificial intelligence includes:

  • Games playing: programming computers to play games such as chess;
  • Expert systems: programming computers to make decisions in real life situations (for example, some of them help doctors diagnose diseases based on symptoms);
  • Natural language: programming computers to understand natural human languages;
  • Robotics: programming computers to see and hear and react to other sensory stimuli.

The greatest advances have occurred in the field of games playing. The best computer chess programs are now capable of beating human.

Artificial intelligence makes our lives easier and gives a lot of benefit but we should control it that it would not take human place, despite no computers are able to simulate full human behavior at this moment.

Of course I agree with you that there is a lot of useful things in new technologies, such as computer games and so on. But we have to keep in mind that artificial intelligence is not just for fun, it is getting more innovative and it can help in very different spheres of out life. :)
